PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZERS JOIN HANDS FOR HABITAT HOMEOWNERS
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Local Organizer Goes International To Help a Habitat Homeowner
Dade City, FL May 1, 2007
Kyna Morrison, Apt Organizing, has been volunteering her services as a Professional Organizer with East Pasco Habitat for Humanity. Habitat is a faith-based organization whose mission is to help eliminate poverty housing. Kyna has been working very closely with the next homeowner family of 8 to teach them organizational lessons that will help them now and in the future with their new homeowner venture. She felt led to do what she does best-organize and work with this family to give them the benefit of her skills for use in their new home. Habitat volunteers are diligently working on getting the family’s 5 bedroom, 2-bath, 1150 sq. ft. home ready for them.
In stepped Wesley Brown, Simplified Solutions, from Vancouver, British Columbia to extend an international volunteer hand to assist Kyna in working with the Habitat family. Wes read about Kyna’s volunteer work with East Pasco Habitat and felt compelled to learn more and to help! Three weeks were spent here in the States with Wes and Kyna working side by side to prepare the family for their move within the next several weeks. Wes is planning on implementing the same volunteer spirit back in British Columbia and help out the Habitat affiliates there! Good luck, Wes…….East Pasco Habitat appreciated what you did and hope the homeowners in BC can be organized as well!
All of the families helped by East Pasco Habitat are first –time homeowners and are given classes on pertinent subjects for becoming a homeowner—finance, repairs-even decorating and now organizing! The homes are built at no profit and no interest is charged on the mortgages which allows these low-income level families to own their own homes.
The hand of friendship reaches far……….
